I want to take this day to recognize all the people who work for what they want to accomplish in life and also say how proud I am of my mom who has dedicated her time on learning something new. I have learned a lot from her, and I want to say how grateful I am of that. Her hard work should be noted as should Mr. Nemeth’s, for all the students he motivated to do better. I am glad I got the chance to speak with an alumna of Cristo Rey who had him as a teacher – I learned how good of a person he was. Just like my mom, he was willing to help others succeed and provide an example on how to live my best life. I feel we should use this day to recognize people like them.

I will be taking November 15th as an opportunity to remember those who have sacrificed themselves in order to support my family’s education. One person who has made countless sacrifices is my mom. My mom immigrated at a young age to provide a better education for her siblings, me, and my siblings. Her dedication to my education has been unimaginable, as I am one of the few people in my family who have achieved an education beyond grammar school. I am thankful for receiving this year’s Nemeth scholarship, as I will be saving money and using it to continue my higher studies in college to achieve the goals and dreams I have.

Mr. Nemeth is an inspiration to not just me but my mother. After talking to my mother about Mr. Nemeth, she felt honored to be engaged in something that not everyone gets the opportunity to be able to do. My mother is striving to be better through opportunities with her education. She goes to school after work tired, frustrated, and even mad of the outcome of her day, but she still believes that it is necessary to do it because it is for our good. I also believe I am following Mr. Nemeth's footsteps by doing more with my life. I do more by doing sports while getting my education and I love to serve at church and help those who need it.

The 5th Grade Class at Mooseheart will be honoring Mr. Nemeth by helping to decorate an area on the campus for Christmas. We will do our best to spread joy to others.
